Your Bay House wedding

With its stunning location and picturesque backdrop, The Bay House is the perfect venue for your summer time wedding.

We are able to offer either a daytime or evening reception after your beach ceremony and have a custom-built silk lined marquee to cover the deck if it is raining making The Bay House the perfect location for both your ceremony and reception.

A Bay House wedding is essentially an all in one ‘hassle free’ day tailored to suit your personal style of celebrating your marriage. You can be rest assured that our professional team will take care of all the details as provided by yourself and allow you to really enjoy your big day!

Venue Hire  

Exclusive use 

For an exclusive use lunch or dinner reception at The Bay House we require a 'minimum spend' which varies depending on the time of year and which day of the week you wish to book. A full breakdown of minimum spend requirements is available on request.

For dinner receptions, The Bay House is available from 5pm – 1am for your private use.

For luncheon receptions The Bay House is available from 10am – 5pm for your private use.

The Bay House is also available for an all day/night reception e.g. 12pm ceremony, lunch at 1pm, followed by ceremonies and then a dance and supper later into the evening with premise to be vacated by 1am. .

Non-exclusive use 

Non-exclusive use for lunch or dinner parties is available for up to 24 guests. The current a al carte menu and pricing would apply.

Guest numbers and seating arrangments  

The Bay House can cater for wedding lunches or dinners from 4 guests up to 100 guests.

The restaurant can comfortably seat 60 guests indoors. For receptions larger than this a marquee is required which allows seating for an extra 40 people. 100 is the maximum number of guests we can seat.

Due to the size of our kitchen we recommend a cocktail style reception for parties with guest numbers from 80-100 rather than a formal seated arrangement.

The restaurant consists of three separate dining areas which can seat up to 60 guests. The bay room and the main room are adjoining rooms; however the gallery area is slightly separated from these two main rooms.

Seating is arranged as follows:

• 2 tables of 12 in the bay room
• 1 table of 12 in the main room
• 3 tables of 8 in the gallery (Given the weather is suitable it is ideal to seat the gallery tables on the deck, which adjoins the main room giving closer proximity for all guests)

Beverage selection  

All alcohol and non-alcohol beverage options are offered at our current advertised menu price.

The Bay House has an extensive wine list of select New Zealand wines from our leading producers. We are also happy to make arrangements for any special requests you may have.

Other considerations  

Our on-site wedding planner and professional support team can organise/provide all of the days accessories such as decorations, table cloths & adornments, printed menus, table place name cards, candles, extra ambient lighting, outdoor heating, marquees, a courtesy coach and we can also provide information to assist with finding suitable accommodation for your guests.

All these extra details will be arranged upon discussion with you and will be charged accordingly.
